Receiving Clerk - Seasonal/Part-time $15.00 per hour

DD Traders is the parent company of DEMDACO, a Kansas City wholesale and ecommerce gift company, specializing in gifts, tabletop and home d??cor.
This position helps supports the flow of the receiving department. In addition to receiving inbound merchandise, the receiving specialist will support the receiving supervisor by performing various tasks that require the ability to communicate using cohesive written and verbal skills. This job requires a high school diploma or its equivalent, with a minimum of one year of experience in warehouse operations. The position will follow guidelines as provided by the Receiving Supervisor and will initiate activities within the areas of responsibility to accomplish daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals. Performs functions requiring independent decision-making with accurate results.

Warehouse Duties include (10% of the time)
Physically investigate inventory count issues
Receive unloaded merchandise
Perform cycle counts as needed
Other duties as assigned
Administrative Duties include (90% of the time)
Release batches of work to fork lift drivers as directed by the supervisor
Monitor daily replenishment tasks until they are completed
Communicate verbally and in writing with supervisors, colleagues, truck drivers, vendors and other internal DEMDACO departments as it relates to receiving and inventory control
Use Oracle WMS data base throughout the day for various receiving and inventory control tasks
Requesting assistance from teammates when working through inventory investigations
Work independently, making decisions within area of responsibility with limited direction from Supervisor

Experience and Skills
Minimum of high school or equivalent; 1-2 years college preferred or a minimum of one year of related experience.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using whole numbers and decimals. Understands and interprets numerical relationships.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instruction furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job an individual must very comfortable with working with computers and have strong computer skills. Capable of typing 35 WPM and contain 10-key skills. Be skilled with spreadsheet and word processing applications. Microsoft Access experience is preferred.
Work Environment:
While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to forklifts and motorized conveyers. 10% (estimated) of the employees work will be performed in a non-climate controlled warehouse with the other 90% (estimated) being performed in an office environment. The employee will be exposed to moderate noise levels.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; lift; reach with hands and arms. The employee is also required to walk; sit; stoop; kneel or crouch; talk or hear.
The employee must periodically lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
