Job Summary
Coordinates and Performs inspection of a variety of standard or custom parts, products or materials that are being produced by factories or received from vendors. Uses a variety of precision measuring instruments, including electronic devices. Checks color, finish, dimensions, hardness, density or other measurable or observable characteristics of material. Deploy temporary workforces as needed. May recommend, write or modify sampling and inspection procedures.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
(40%) Inspect incoming materials, parts or products from the supplier (could be in process or finished goods) at different stages in the production/distribution process.
(10%) Records observations, makes recommendations.
(10%) Deploy and train temporary workforces. Ensure Safety, Quality and efficiency of work being performed.
(10%) Operate Forklifts and or Highlift Equipment to access and audit product stored in rack locations within warehouse for defects or problems
(5%) May re-work in-process and/or finished goods prior to delivery to customer.
(5%) Actively participate on project teams and projects as necessary
(5%) Provide timely updates of work planning, work in progress, and summaries of work completed.
(5%) Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Education and Experience Profile
High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least 2 years of quality inspector experience or equivalent.
Data entry and reporting experience. (i.e.: Excel, PowerPoint)
Required Skills
Must have above average attendance & above average response to company requested overtime.
General knowledge of inspection/ rework flow and functions.
General knowledge of methods and procedures in the various distribution center functions.
Must have basic mathematical skills.
Ability to read, write, understand and effectively communicate pertinent information and standard operating procedures
Must have the ability to multi task as well as be detail oriented. Must possess natural curiosity and ability to recognize missing elements.
Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills. Must have good interpersonal skills.
Must be able to perform without specific daily direction while managing time effectively.
Familiarity with product and handling characteristics
Must have an exceptional level of accountability and integrity.
Perform related duties as assigned by Team Lead, Supervisor and/or Manager.
General knowledge of distribution center layout and the ability to operate powered equipment safely
Standing for extended period of time (shift).
Good hand and eye coordination and vision.
Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs
Ability to certify on material handling equipment as needed, including fork lifts and highlifts.
Work Environment
Working conditions are consistent with a Warehouse/ Distribution Center (Office Area and Shop Floor).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
