Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Plan daily team goals, communicate to team and ensure goals are completed
Assist supervisor in overseeing floor operations of employees
Hand out work, ensure work completion and trouble shoot problems.
Manage Distribution Center priorities in a cost efficient manner to satisfy customer requirements placed on transportation and distribution.
Plan and schedule the efficient and safe use of manpower and equipment.
Train, and coaches Distribution Center employees to attain a cohesive work team, the highest quality standards of service, and achieve optimum productivity and efficiency levels in all areas.
Ensure that all Safety/housekeeping rules, regulations, OSHA standards and all Spectrum Brands policies and procedures are understood, followed and adhered to by self and all reports.
Ensure all employees keep and maintain a clean safe work area and assure all employees follow all safety and company policies within our company's culture values.
Maintain a highly motivated workforce by using timely communications, exercising consistent and fair accountability of expectations, focused recognition and personal involvement.
Support development of direct reports and cross train associates to achieve maximum flexibility of the workforce.
Manage label control with support of supervisor
May manage the shipment or receipt of all HHI products. Treat as high priority.
Communicate and work closely with other departments to resolve order release issues, expedite rush orders, etc.
Enter data and gather information to generate reports to track picking capabilities of each department to properly prioritize work for each department.
Prepare work before pickers arrive (Ensure that boxes are on the line, and that labels are ready for equipment operators).
Disburse work for all pickers as needed.
Prepare reports based on age and hot orders.
Troubleshoot any orders that may have issues.
Maintain organization and time on all orders.
Frequently check all work areas for any issues that may occur or come across.
Ensure the safety of the employees by fixing or reporting any trouble areas.
Ensure that the shipping dock is continuously loading orders.
Shipment Order issues: Clusters pick labels that need merging, pick cancellation to reprint labels, pick labels that are not picked, pick labels that won't manifest.
Manage the process of the Age Report:
Review shipping dock stats two on shipments that are 100% completed that must be closed out manually if stuck in process.
Clean up all remaining open picks that are not 100% completed.
Complete all shipments that are pending.

Manage air freight orders are waved 3 times a day.
Customer Service
Cross train employees in other areas to facilitate support in other departments when needed.
Promote a TEAM type environment that focuses on respect of others that would allow for great team chemistry and efficiency.
Communicate with other department leads and supervisors for any need or support.

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required Skills

Proficient experience with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) with intermediate level skills in Excel.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Extensive knowledge of Red Prairie and MFGPro/QAD applications preferred.
General knowledge of distribution center layout.
1 - 2 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution or logistics business operation.
Knowledge of key warehouse functions (i.e. Receiving, Inventory Management, Order Processing, Replenishment, and Shipping).
Broad knowledge of methods and procedures in the various distribution center functions.
Ability to read, write, understand and effectively communicate pertinent information and standard operating procedures.
Must be able to function in a quick moving, highly interactive team environment.
Must have the ability to multi task as well as be detail oriented. Work well with numbers (mathematics).
Must possess natural curiosity and ability to recognize missing elements.
Must be able to perform without specific daily direction.
Demonstrate organizational skills.
Must have the ability and willingness to work collaboratively with other people and departments.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of the business.
Must be a self-starter, creative thinker, and results oriented individual.

Work Environment
Working conditions are normal for a distribution center.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
