Job Summary
Environment Health & Safety: Responsible for the development, training and execution of safety programs to create a zero accident work environment. Support the development of safety curriculum for weekly and monthly meetings oriented, manage the Environmental Health & Safety Management System (EHSMS) and ensure that the facility is safety compliance with OSHA regulations. Support the management team in identifying unsafe conditions and unsafe behaviors. Promote employee participation in safety initiatives in order to create a hazardous free environment.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Safety (95%)
Supports the development and implementation of all of the health and safety programs in the Distribution Center.
Coordinate employee safety programs to determine their adequacy including review of short and long term strategic safety planning and development.
Conducts on-going training regarding safety for all employees.
Conduct routine safety meetings to ensure all employees are aligned with our safety policies.
Organizes committees that assist in the Distribution Center safety reviews.
Ensures the Distribution Center is in compliance with OSHA standard regulations from a safety stand point.
Partner with the rest of the management staff to conduct safety investigations and assessments.
Maintain the Environmental Health & Safety Management System (EHSMS) audit program.
Recognizing potential hazards within the facility.
Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
Perform safety audits and inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
Others (5%)
Documentation and follow up on all Workers' Compensation injuries.
Partner with Doctors/Clinics as it relates to Workers' Compensation claims.
Execute any required local and state permits.
Investigate industrial accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures, and manage return-to-work activities.
Other duties as assigned/ required by supervisor.
Education and Experience Profile
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree or higher in Management, Business Management, Business, Specialty related to department, communications, or related field.
1 - 3 years external managerial experience supervising direct reports and/or in a previous Environment Health & Safety / Facilities Manager role including hiring, evaluation, and coaching.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's Degree or higher in Management, Business Management, Business, Specialty related to department, communications, or related field.
4 - 7 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution or logistics business operation.
2 years managerial experience supervising direct reports as an Environment Health & Safety / Facilities Manager or above including direction, training, recruitment, hiring, performance management, coaching, and recognition.
Bilingual verbal fluency based on market needs (i.e., English-Spanish, English-Mandarin).

Basic to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Detail Orientated: Making sure cleaning, upkeep and safety standards are maintained, or efficiencies are discovered.
Leadership Skills: Ability to motivate and coordinate employees, as well as deal with any disciplinary issues that may arise.
Knowledge of key warehouse functions (i.e. Receiving, Inventory Management, Order Processing, Replenishment, and Shipping).
Broad knowledge of methods and procedures in the various distribution center functions.
Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA)
In-depth knowledge and understanding of Warehouse Management Systems
Proficiency with MS Office applications required, comfortable with technology and experience utilizing technology
Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures.
Strong financial acumen.
Ability to present and articulate ideas in an effective manner.
Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Work Environment
Working conditions are normal for a warehouse environment in a distribution center.
Physical Requirements
Physical Strengths: The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects using hands , arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groups.
Protective Equipment: The ability to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions.
Proper Lifting Techniques: The ability to properly lift heavy objects or equipment. This includes the knowledge of correct bending and lifting techniques as needed to properly position and use one's hands, feet, legs, arms, and back to lift objects or equipment, and to push, pull, and carry heavy objects.
Agility: The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, or legs to perform job tasks. This includes the ability to move throughout all areas of the warehouse, other Spectrum Brands HHI property or additional work areas.
Hand-Eye Coordination: The ability to coordinate one's eyes with one's fingers, wrists, or arms to move, carry, or manipulate objects or to perform other job-related tasks.
Visual Acuity: The ability to see details (e.g., letters, numbers, codes, color, symbols, marks, labels, signs, video displays) clearly to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
Manual Dexterity: The ability to make quick, accurate, skillful, coordinated movements of one hand , one hand in coordination with its arm, or two hands to grasp, place, move, or assemble objects.
Stamina: The ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time. This may include performing repetitive or strenuous tasks as well as standing and sitting for long periods.
Climbing: The ability to climb, work, and carry items up and down ladders.
Work Conditions: The ability to perform job activities, with appropriate intermittent relief where applicable, under difficult work conditions such as in extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, while exposed to constant/intermittent sounds.
Tight Working Conditions: The willingness and ability to work in cramped/tight working conditions where mobility is restricted.
Safety Harness: The ability to wear the safety harness to perform job functions.
Lifts 26-40 pounds without assistance many times a day and also lifts 41-75 pounds without assistance daily. Additionally this role lifts 76-100 pounds with assistance daily.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
