Forklift Operator-Seasonal Position

DD Traders is the parent company of DEMDACO, a Kansas City wholesale gift company, specializing in gifts, tabletop and home d?cor.
We are seeking a Forklift Operator that is highly motivated, energetic and has a passion for working in a family oriented team environment.
Briefly describe the position responsibilities: Operates Reach Truck and other mechanized material moving equipment such as Double walkie rider, and Stock Picker, to move merchandise while taking into account personal safety, the safety of others, the equipment and product while maintaining established productivity standards. This job requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 1 year experience of forklift equipment operations in a warehouse or distribution center environment. This position will follow specific guidelines provided by the warehouse supervisor. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (additional duties may be assigned)

Successfully passrequired safety training and compliance testing for driver certification
Successfully pass required (re-certification every 2 years)
Operates power equipment in a safe manner at all times. Using horn and keeping visually alert to all surroundings especially related to pedestrian travel throughout the building.
Moves product and other material to and from designated locations.
Operates RF scanning equipment to record transactions.
As required, manually counts inventory involved in the assigned transaction to assure accuracy of same.
Checks power equipment for damage at the beginning of each shift and properly notate issues within the iWarehouse onboard keypads. Reports any damage or other possible problems directly to Supervisor and/or maintenance Manager. Keeps forklift clean of loose material.
Reports Radio Frequency (RF) equipment problems to Supervisor.
Has basic working knowledge of the iWarehouse equipment which is mounted on each unit. Will be required to login and out as appropriate to the iWarehouse software.
Other general warehouse duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills
Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Potential candidates will be required to pass a written test and a driving test for forklift certification.
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 1 year of related forklift experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers.
Work Environment:
While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to forklifts and motorized conveyors. The employee's work will be performed in a non-climate controlled warehouse 95% of the time, with the other 5% being performed in an office environment. The employee will be exposed to moderate noise levels.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; lift; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk or hear.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
Starting pay is $16 an hour



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
